You will soon be able to search Glenwood's burial records from this page. In the meantime, the Glenwood office will assist you in locating a gravesite. You may visit the Glenwood office during office hours to receive a map marked with the location. If you wish to locate more than one burial, please be prepared to provide a written list of the names and approximate burial dates for the persons you wish to locate. You may also mail, e‑mail or fax your request in advance of your visit and pick up a marked map when you arrive at Glenwood.

Up to three burial locations can be provided during your visit. If you require information on more than three burials, please submit your request in writing at least three business days in advance of your visit. Please include the date of your visit with your request. The staff will prepare a marked map that you may pick up when you arrive for your visit, or it can be mailed, e-mailed or faxed to you.

The burial records at Glenwood contain the deceased’s name, burial date, burial location, and sometimes age at death, cause of death, and place of nativity. This information was furnished by family or friends at the time of burial, and it sometimes conflicts with other sources. The burial records do not include birth or death dates, or the names of the deceased’s parents. The files do not contain death certificates or other such documents. Due to the age and condition of the burial records, we cannot provide photocopies.

Your request will be answered with all of the information in the Glenwood Cemetery and Washington Cemetery burial records and files, but please be aware these records may not contain all of the information you are seeking. An excellent resource for genealogical research in Houston is the Clayton Library Center for Genealogical Research.
