Historic Tours

Visitors are welcome at Glenwood anytime, but we encourage you to register for a guided walking tour to learn more about the cemetery’s history and the fascinating people who are buried here. Our public tours are led by knowledgeable docents from Preservation Houston, which has been leading visitors through Glenwood for more than 30 years. Tours include overviews of our notable interred as well as more in-depth looks at Glenwood women and our stunning art and architecture.

Walking tours are scheduled for Saturday mornings throughout the year. Tours last approximately two hours and involve about a mile of walking at a leisurely pace. Advance reservations are required and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

We also offer private group walking tours through Preservation Houston — it’s truly never been easier to learn more about Glenwood as you enjoy a walk through one of the city’s most beautiful landscapes. Private tours are available for groups of 10 or more and must be scheduled at least 21 days in advance.
